Responding to Nonfiction Comparisons

This 11 page unit is for kids to research these topics on own or as a class. It is aligned with CCSS- 2.RIT.9- Compare and contrast the most important points presented by two texts on same topic. The topics are inspired by Houghton Mifflin StoryTown Anthology. If you do not have this resource, allow above average children to research and compare on their own. Topics to be compared between the past and today are : Playing Sports, Enjoying the Park, Games, Reading,  Family Vacations, and Special Events. A Thinking Critically and Responding with  an Opinion writing activity is included as well. Enjoy!
