Students were encouraged to choose the protagonist and the antagonist in a favorite fairytale. Then we discussed “moods” and colors that represent “moods”. Next, the students painted the background colors reflecting the character’s moods, illustrated them and attached the characters to the background, setting the stage for their visual writing. Each student was responsible for writing an opinion paragraph about both characters and shared their writing with the class.
